In the zone
Sure enough, it's been a creative couple of days!
I'm fighting off a cold, so I have had some brain fog. The complex flight sequences over the Gulf of Thailand will need to wait until the weekend, I think.
On the plus side, I have had some ideas spark. Some of them are ignored, some of them are written down in my black notebook for future contemplation, and some went straight in.
Week 33
Chapter 1 is done. The first half of Chapter 2 is done. The epilogue is done. Everything else is trickling in.

Dialogue is always an easy thing to sink into, and it's been fantastic feeling the Corvids (old and new) come back to life on the page in the early chapters.
Work is busy. My poor friends haven't seen me in weeks. But Renegades is taking form, one word at a time.
I am now so in the zone that I think of the characters in the shower, on the bus, when I sleep (yes, I really do dream of flying and running through Thai streets)...
Sometimes I wish the pages would write themselves, so I can read it, already. There is something incredible about this feeling of a plot seeping into skin. It takes life in my every breath. Honestly, it's not dissimilar to being pregnant. I want it to be over, but the slow parasitic growth gives time to bond. It is both part of me and alien - soon it will take on an existence of its own.
Signing off for the evening. I need an early night!
Renegades word count (12 August 2026): 24639
