Some of my favourite quotes

[Warning for mild spoilers.]

I made a list of my (current) top ten favourite quotes form Air Superiority and Compromised. It'll be fun to see which ones stand the test of time!

Air Superiority

  1. “You do not have to choose the difficult path in every aspect of your life to be worthy of it.”

  2. “obedience without judgment was just stupidity with a gun.”

  3. “If my reputation is classified, no one can disappoint themselves by meeting me in person.”

  4. “the honest response would have been catastrophic and the dishonest one wasn't fast enough.”

  5. “If his 'copy' sounded like 'f**k you', that was between Xavier and plausible deniability.”

  6. “Mate, your ex broke up with you and trashed your apartment and you, what, swept up and made pasta?”

  7. “It was never about getting a seat at the table. It was about making the table irrelevant.”

  8. “Freddie fought her way through a system that told her being a prick was forgivable but lacking one wasn't.”

  9. “If feeling undervalued was sufficient grounds for treason, the entire British military would be working for the other side.”

  10. “In the air, he was a god. On the ground, he was just another mortal.”

No particular order of preference, here, although I can see myself loving (1) and (7) for a long time.

Compromised

  1. “That's either commitment or insanity” “Both are useful”

  2. “Subtlety is overrated between intelligent people. I have found it is often used as a substitute for honesty by people who are afraid of directness.”

  3. “your only durable relationship is with a man professionally trained to survive unsurvivable situations”

  4. “I fly in no man's shadow.”

  5. “Your charm is a weapon of mass destruction, Kapitan.”

  6. “I think intelligence isolates by default. Whether the default is a necessity or a failure of environment is the interesting question.”

  7. “I build worlds inside the cell because the alternative is counting tiles.”

  8. “I conducted a strategic reallocation of assets.”“The asset being yourself.”

  9. “Mutual insanity is the basis of life's most interesting relationships, Doktor.”

  10. “Is it a genuine defection? Or is it over a year of being outmanoeuvred by a highly manipulative prisoner whose sole goal was to compromise me?”

It's not unhealthy if the compromise is mutual... right?
